I don't understand at all. Why let an irrelevant douche like Sam get in your way at all? I mean, I made the choice to keep swinging at him simply because it's fun, it's something to do while I drink coffee and, I'll always go after people who claim to have served in the military and obviously didn't. But that's me. He's easy to ignore, with or without pressing the button.
There is no way I'd ever give the cowardly little punk the satisfaction of thinking he affected my time here at all.

OK, I'll explain it to you. It's very simple, actually. I have no interest in simply trading insults with others. It's childish in my opinion. If you get a kick out of it, good for you. This place used to offer a lot of intellectually stimulating discourse. Now, it's primarily just a source of pornography for me.

My point is you don't have to trade insults with anyone. Use the Ignore button if you feel the need, or just read it, laugh at it and forget about it. I still fail to understand how this fool can evoke such a reaction from people, especially those who have been here as long as I/you/we have. He's a mutt. That's all he has ever been and all he will ever be. And as the late, great Louis L'Amour wrote, "The dogs bark, and the wagons roll on."

Forget it, man. No offense meant but you don't even heed your own advice. Too many of the threads in this section are just a parade of insulting banter between the same ol' combatants about the same ol' subjects (and, quite honestly, you are at the forefront of many of them). It's tedious at its best and totally boring at its worst. Except for a very few number of members, no one seems to want to have any legitimate give-and-take discussions here anymore and it has turned into a total circus. If everyone did as you suggest and ignored the trolls and flooders here they would already be gone since they absolutely live for attention (what lonely and pathetically bankrupt lives they must lead!). If everyone ignored them, they'd be gone in a New York minute.
My advice to you, Mayhem, is to follow my lead and bail out of here and so should every other decent member of the forum. Once there are only a few (and there are only a few....we all know who they are and THEY know who they are) active posters left on this board, maybe management will sit up and take notice. Until then, the dogs can bark all they want cuz this wagon has already rolled on.
My best to you as well, Dirk. I had given some thought to rejoining the NCAA thread since the most obvious trolls evidently don't have any interest in that subject but just never got around to it. Good thing perhaps since Texas, Miami and Missouri have not fared too well this year (well, Texas a little bit I guess). Maybe I'll join the bowl challenge. Don't I have a title to defend? BTW, your Domers seem to be pretty good this year so I guess I picked the right year to stay on the sidelines....LOL.

When you say I don't heed my own advice, we know this is true because......I came right out and said so. But I take issue when you say that I am at the forefront of the insults. No I'm not. I'll debate at any level the next guy wants too. The threads I start come with articles from accredited sources and the opinions I give are ones that I genuinely hold. When it comes to candidates/issues/policy/ I think I have a clean track record in the points I try to make. My indictments against the Right over the past election season have been based in fact. So if you are going to accuse me of being part of the problem, I'll ask you to provide legitimate proof.
I'm sorry you take the rest of this so seriously. And I am still clueless as to how one person can make the rest of you run for the fire escape. So many trolls have come and gone. How is Sammy any different? What does he have that the others didn't? Hell, I was stalked by a guy named fathomite for a while and didn't let him get me down. And there have been a host of others. I seriously sat here and tried to remember some of their names, but other that fathomite (which took me a solid 5 minutes) I can't recall the others. That's how deeply they affected me. And how much attention I paid to them. But que sera, home is where the heart is. If you find a place where everyone else lives up to your standards, give the rest of us a PM and maybe we'll bail with you.
